This booklet is indeed what the title indicates -- it is a
beauty contest. Meet seven girls, fictitious of course,
but young ladies whom we believe your preteen or
teen will be able to identify with and will enjoy taking a
"peek" at. There is a short narrative about each of the
girls, not actually a story in the true sense of the word,
but rather a glimpse into the life of each "contestant."
The reader, who will be close in age to the seven
protagonists, will read each glimpse and then fill in
that girl's score sheet based on ten characteristics of
true beauty as set forth in the booklet. It should be
fun and we really do want the included scorecard
(picking the winner) mailed back in. Those who match
our winner get their names posted on our bulletin
board. Even if that doesn't happen, we think a
worthwhile purpose has been served just by a girl's
participation.
