A Blog to Check Out

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

As I am quite a fan of Beautiful Girlhood and know that quite a few of our friends and customers are too, I wanted to give a quick link for the new blog that one of our customers/suppliers, Pumpkin Seed Press, has started. It looks delightful! Go over and visit “B’twixt & B’tween” as soon as you have opportunity, especially if you’re a mom with daughters.

Setting up a gift registry

This has become such a common thing in our day, that it’s doubtful that a bride wouldn’t know about it, but just in case. This video is very simple and basic and pretty much tells you all you would need to know. I’m sure the actual setup is different for each store, but for those who are not very computer literate, we’d suggest recruiting the help of someone who is.

PARENTS: “Fill your children’s minds with Scripture. Let the Word dwell in them richly. Give them the Bible, the whole Bible, even while they are young.” ~ J.C. Ryle

This was posted on the J.C. Ryle Facebook page today, and it seemed to be a good time to give a quick reminder that we’ve moved our children’s ministry from our main website to a new place. We still have our Speakables writing activities at that new site and hope to soon have another writing contest which will be hosted there. Visit the new blog, still under the theme of helping children to grow.

By the way, there is a riddle posted at the children’s site that you might want to take a stab at.

About Shipping

When you purchase items from a catalog or from an online store, are you ever resentful about shipping? I know I often am. You see something you really want at a reasonable price and then upon checking out, you see the shipping costs added on and wish you didn’t have to have those extra dollars put on your account or credit card. But alas, these charges are a necessary part of the buying and selling of merchandise in the world in which we live. Of course, going to the store and getting it yourself can undoubtedly be more cost effective, at least if it’s not too far. Personally, I like shopping right here from my home, sparing myself from needing to take the time, gas expense, and wear and tear on my car and nerves. :) So, I’d rather pay the shipping. I’m pretty thankful for that truck which pulls up at my front door, delivering me the goodies which I’ve not stepped one foot out of my house to go and get.

Here at SG, we think we have shipping charges which are more than reasonable and economical, but do want to let any folks know who happen to live in the metro Philly area in PA or NJ, that you can now choose “Pickup” as a shipping method when checking out. If you want to work something out with us on how to facilitate that, give us a quick call or email us about it. We’ll be glad to do what we can to help you out!

Blessings,
Maxine
